TAIWAN NEEDS SOME SORT OF MIRACLE-China has a thuggish authoritarian regime

Taiwan/China diplomatic battle over Swaziland has been an interesting topic of late. Everywhere you go , every Old Brown Cherry drinking group, a handful 4th Street imbibers have something to say about the carrot mainland Chiona has been dangling to Africa (save for our peaceful Kingdom of Eswatini). Who am I to tell labadzala who to choose and what to do? In our culture that is utter disrespected and it is accorded with a thorough beating until on soils himself. Before we could be hearing the both sides of the story about the Mainland China Diplomatic interests in Africa , everyone played the blame game on the Government of Eswatini for not accepting the red China courting ways. It was until the day we could hear of them grabbing on of Sri Lanka's ports, Zambian Airport etc then we realized that what is promised might come as poison to the tiny Kingdom. We have heard enough of another blame game of the influx of Asians ( Bangladesh, Pakistan, India) in our shores grabbing eve...

DAGGA STILL ILLEGAL EMZANSI-Making words matter again

THE legislation of marijuana in South Africa has been a topic of wide discussion last year with reports of the cultivation and use of it in regulated ways rendered permissible. In March the Western Cape High Court passed a ruling that allowed for the possession, cultivation and private use of marijuana at home. While the ruling had many divided on whether the legalisation of marijuana would benefit the country or not, various strides where taken to developing ways in which the plant could be used medicinally and industrially to grow the economy. In October Fever reported that various entities, including House of Hemp and Canna Culture, would be making the cultivation of marijuana for economic growth a reality for local farmers with the backing of government under a newly formed Cannabis Developing Council of South Africa. At the time the KZN Department of Agriculture and Rural Development spokesperson Khayelihle Nkwanana said the department was still waiting on a go ah...

THE UNDEAD PAST-HOW NATIONS CONFRONT THE EVILS OF HISTORY

It would be a crime not to acknowledge the input of the decorated Gideon Rose, Editor  Foreign Affairs on this one where he explicitly questions on how nations deal with the sins of our fathers and mothers. Imagine the scars of genocide , slavery or politician mass murders, xenophobia and apartheid. I have never spoken German language but i read from his publication that they call it Vergangenheitsbewaltigung which means coming to terms with the past.  I may have been very young to have detailed information on what led to the 1996 mass strike action , during that period of time i was a prime of my youth days and i remember one cloudy day without my parents concerns i joined the toy toy from Mbabane bus rank to Coronation Park. I was not part of the struggle and i was not affiliated to the Swaziland Students Association but because i saw a lot of young boys who were i would relate to and were from my township Msunduza and Moneni leading the pack , i joined. Despite the meani...

VULA VALA____TWO DAYS IN THE WEEK A LOT HAS BEEN SAID

1. The numerous clashes between the country's security and TUCOSWA membership is nothing to laugh about. It is one of the elements which can brew an unnecessary volatile situation in our peaceful Kingdom of Eswatini. During the build up of the protest action i was made to believe that it was going to be a peaceful march but what happened yesterday at the hub it leaves a lot of questions with no answers. to everyone on the other side of the fence , security is blamed for the eventual causalities but little has been said on what had angered the workers which prompted the protesting workers to pelt stones towards the police and shop's windows. I just hate to play the devil's advocate on the results of the action but i wish both ends should have agreed on the routes which were to be taken and everyone should have at least heeded to the calls for cooperation. Imagine if it had been one of us being injured in the scuffle or if the people seen in media being our relatives, how w...

As we talk of who can be best positioned for political posts -sakha kwetfu...... Africa is ready for growth..... 1. Dubai based ports and logistics company DP World has announced a 20 year deal with Mali to build and operate a logistics club in the West African country. 2. E- commerce giant Amazon is opening a new office in Cape Town amid growing competition with Microsoft in the cloud computing space. 3. Egypt hopes to raise $560 million  from floating shares in state -owned companies in fiscal year 2018-19. 4.China has pledged $14.7 bn to invest in South Africa 5. South Africa seeking private investors in Eskom 6. Ethiopia is opening its national carrier and related assets , including airports and a hotel  as part of Government sweeping economic reform agenda since April. 7. Smart technology has proven to be the key to Rwanda's future. 8. Asia not just China is opening for cooperations to benefit Africa 9. Are we watching closes on the UK- Africa trade ini...

MR ESWATINI POLICE OFFICER U DESERVE THE DUNGEON FOR HITTING ON THE !$ YEAR OLD GIRL

Image
NO one can accept the revelation from  the story of  the Sunday Observer of Eswatini by our own law enforcer who is allegedly been accused of impregnating  a14 year old schoolgirl... Vooetsek to this .. this guy has not been charged for such despite that such had been reported a few months ago. i cannot run away from the fact that His Almighty has blessed me with only beautiful girls who i would never loose sight of and be abused by these monsters who do not protect women but see them as objects for their lustful tool and merge understanding of preserving our future. i am really saddened by the fact that the fingered officer is from the Operational Support Services Unit (OSSU)  which is one of the dignified Special Unit in our tiny kingdom and the most appaling information regarding the case is that the officer shall be charged after the birth of the child. Let the legislators or law enforcers be realistic, what if the 14 year old encounters complications w...

SETTING FREE PSYCHIATRIC PATIENTS FREE_IS A NO SICK JOKE

Image
Though some would have regarded such an action as just a threat to gain editorial mileage...I was really shaken this Saturday that upon stumbling on the copy of the local publication Swazi News which headlined on "Nurses to set psychiatric patients free " . This comes from the background from the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union (SWADNU) historic march has was not only be fueled by the country's nursing fraternity following my beloved government failure to attend them on their basic right of cost of living adjustment. Before hitting on the streets the nurses were engaged in a rather lethal go slow strike at the country's major medical institutions. I was directly affected cause i suffered from an itchy chest which prevented me to hold the bull by its horns whilst my fellow eMaswati from the rural background the effects were just lethal, some of the voiceless lost their breadwinners because of the effects of the go slow.  It is just funny how government dec...

HERE FAMILY VARIABLES DETERMINE YOUR CAREER'S ARCHITECTURE

Image
Why should I blame the world for my poor background? NO ways but current situations have taught me best lessons that family background shall always play a part in crafting one's future. Imagine my surname is Mohammed and i was born of a broken family of half Islander from the Indian Ocean/ Swazi and it is so unfortunate that i am living in a society which ensures that common bloodlines benefit heftily on scholarships, civil service placements, foreign attachment etc... The current situation has seen some of the locals being exploited because of their rich experience at certain crafts and by the time they expect to receive accolades they are just overlooked ahead of those with those of colored bloodlines. I am not even ashamed to explain that in our society these family variables influence the youth's future.: these variables include family structure ( utalwa ngubani yemfokati ), family tree educational history, parents past relationship with government, family structure...

MAKE ESWATINI TRADE FAIR GREAT AGAIN

Over the last five years Swaziland Investment Promotion Authority (SIPA) has overlooked the importance of the Eswatini International Trade Fair entertainment. Despite the ever decreasing number of people attending the 'entertainment shows'  SIPA has continously displayed sheer arrogance on the provision of entertainment structures in previous and current entertainment. It is no hidden fact that having government Ministries such as the ever crowd pulling Ministry of Home Affairs the day's business wouldn't be same. At least whilst awaiting for the issuance of their respective documents , the Swazi nation finds time to roam around the pavilions. it is not often that i write and provoke a management or operations brawl. The issue of 2019 Eswatini International Trade Fair entertainment nights just left an egg on the faces of those responsible for the entertainment. i have it in authority that Eswatini Music Association (ESWAMA) and ACCASWA had the priviledge to be giv...

IT SEEMS THERE ARE FORCES PUSHING MAINLAND CHINA FROM THE REAR

Image
Things seem to be getting teary as international media is pushing harder for everyone in the Kingdom of Eswatini to believe that we are suffering from slow reaction on international gains by falling in a relationship with Mainland China. It is no hidden fact that the Kingdom of Eswatini has always enjoyed a very healthy relationship with the Republic of Taiwan  where the ordinary Liswati has always enjoyed the benefits of  rural electrification, specialist doctors invasion, agricultural empowerment etc. one cannot also forget the economic bailout the Taiwanese have always accorded the KIngdom of Eswatini especially when we had to run to our greedy neighbors , the Republic of  South Africa for a loan to pay our salaries. We couldn't  get enough of the gesture to pay salaries and at the same time contributed to the continued construction of the ICC. I may not qualify to judge of what my Government can do but latest reports suggest that loyalist to Mainland China ...
