IS OUR MEDIA TARGETING NEGATIVE TIDE FROM OUR PARLY HOPEFULS? OR JUST SELLING THRASH

Image
Let me just play the devil's advocate and ask myself these few questions: 1. If a reporter from any media house interview's you in vernacular and publishes the story in English , so who is to blame on direct translation? 2. Is our media doing enough in publishing positive stories about the elections or rather prefer setting the hopefuls against each other? 3. Does our local qualify to analyse the events which unfolded during the primary elections? Arrgh !!! i can ask the whole world all the questions and i can bet my last E0.25 in my First National Bank savings account that the response i will get shall only be based on personalities rather than objectivity. I was was very much disappointed at the reports that on Parly hopeful is alleged to have uttered the words of evil against a fellow constituency soul. Furthermore the publication resorted to interview the aggrieved soul about such utterance in  order to make headlines the following day... Third day ....boom....r...

ESWATINI PRIMARY ELECTIONS- HOPING WE MADE THE RIGHT DECISION

Image
The country is fresh from conducting successful elections. Umkhaya, friend, former teacher , former soccer-mate emerged a victor and I wasn’t surprised when I saw a lot of the forgetting people grabbing the seam of his shirt. Based on my initial sentiments, I proposed that the people of Msunduza elect Harries Madze Bulunga not because we share a couple of medals on the bench of our beloved Umbelebele Football Club BUT BECAUSE I KNEW THAT HE KNOWS Mbabane East like the back of his light skinned hands. He was born and raised in the Msunduza Township and has been a teacher in the area for over two decades. The reasoning behind his nomination was nothing which was motivated by bribing the community with crates of cold beer and food but he relied on the trust of the people from the area. This is a lesson to his competitors and losers is that the reason they lost is because they made such a choice. Being a person who has been a victim of urban poverty myself, record shows that r...

GOLD MINE (LUFAFA) RE-OPENS AS WE EVADE ANOTHER EGG ON THE FACE

Image
It was just another lazy Sunday morning where I learnt with excitement that Lufafa Mine in the Northern Hhohho region has re-opened for operations. One thing that struck my interest was nothing other than the fact that it was closed down recently following mismanagement on the operations. I don’t care what such a comment means but it is of interests of how much gold deposits found its feet following the ailing mismanagement of the country’s prized mineral. It is not only the people responsible for the mining who need to be worried of such issues , but even us the ordinary citizens who always have the legitimate expectation of getting employment on local mines rather than the Gupta polluted zones. As we welcome the mine’s operations let us hope the country’s environmental authority has issued a proper certification towards the operation of the mine. There are neighbouring homesteads who rely on the water source from the Lufafa mountains because in a s far as I remember there has...
